Student Affiliates

AAK supports student organizations for those studying elements of the Architectural Industry. To this end, we recognize the following Student Affiliates:

Architecture Students Associations (UoN)

The Architecture Students Associations University of Nairobi is a students’ organization that serves the students of the University of Nairobi. The Organization has been operating throughout the years with leadership from within the students of Architecture across the board.

Aims and Objectives

  • Link the students and department.
  • Link the students and Architectural organization such as AAK, BORAQS.
  • Promote student interactions.
  • Expose students to the built environment within the country and the whole world.
  • Organize social and Educational events.
  • Making the student life comfortable.

Construction and Real Estate Students Association (CRESA)

Students Organization of Building Economics and Land Economics (SOBELE) was renamed CRESA in 2008 after the emergence of Bachelor of Real Estate from Land Economics; initially SOBELE represented students who were pursuing:

  • Bachelor of Building Economics
  • Bachelor of Land Economics
  • Bachelor of Quantity Surveying
  • Bachelor of Construction Management

CRESA is a students’ association that pulls a pool of students from different levels of study in the Department of Real Estate and Construction Management, University of Nairobi. The Department comprises of three courses namely: Bachelor of Quantity Surveying, Bachelor of Real Estate, and Bachelor of Construction Management.

The association is a non-sectarian, non-political and non-profit making students association, it’s independent and non-subordinate to any political entity; it reserves the right to make statements on all issues affecting the students.

Mission & Vision

Vision: To be the leading Student Association in linking Real Estate, Construction Management and Quantity surveying students to the construction industry.

Mission: To nurture and expose the students of RECM to their respective profession and construction industry through internships, career talks, industrial visits, social welfare activities and community development.

Core Values: Integrity, Competence and Accountability.

Objectives of the Association

  • To represent members’ interest at the college, school and departmental meetings as the case may be.
  • To appropriately care for members’ social and academic welfare.
  • To link members with professional bodies in the country, such as I.S.K, I.Q.S.K, A.A.K, I.C.P.M.K any other relevant bodies and facilitate registration with such bodies.
  • To link members with relevant government institutions, private firms and non-governmental organizations.
  • To provide necessary assistance to the general community on social-cultural matters and on matters concerning the general as well as the built environment.
  • Engaging in charitable work.

Planning Students Association (PLASA)
