View on X - On 26th October 2026, the Mulika Mjengo team of the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) conducted a site visit to the collapsed building along Eastleigh 9th Street. AAK extends its deepest sympathies to the affected families, those injured, and local residents whose livelihoods have been disrupted by the collapse. The Association emphasizes that accountability must extend across the entire development control chain and calls on the relevant authorities to conduct a transparent investigation and publicly release the findings on the cause of the collapse, alongside comprehensive audits of high-risk and non-compliant developments across the country. AAK also urges the public to engage registered built environment professionals in construction projects to promote compliance with approved plans, building regulations and safety standards.
