DAVID MUTISO BURSARY FUND

The Architectural Association of Kenya has established the David Mutiso Bursary Fund. This fund is established in honor of Arch. David Mutiso a founding member of the Architectural Association of Kenya and first indigenous Kenya architect and President of the Architectural Association of Kenya (1972 -1973). He has had an exemplary professional life, with key achievements including serving as the Chief Architect and more recently Senior Trustee of the East Africa Institute of Architects Bursary Fund. He is founder of the architectural practice, Mutiso Menezes International.

The David Mutiso Bursary Fund will enable and encourage students from low income households pursuing built environment programmes pursue their studies and achieve their dreams with reduced financial burdens to their families. Managed by the Architects Chapter of the Architectural Association of Kenya, the Fund will establish and maintain partnerships with members and other industry partners to mobilize resources to be channeled to educational support. The fund will provide financial support that may cover tuition fees, accommodation and subsistence, project works and other studies-related expenses.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for support from the David Mutiso Bursary Fund, students should:

  1. Be enrolled in a built environment programme in a registered and recognized higher institution of learning;
  2. Be a Kenya Citizen;
  3. Be a student Member of the Architectural Association of Kenya;
  4. Be able to demonstrate need with documented support from the Head of Department at the institution of learning, community leadership. religious institution and related institutions
